## What is in a name?
The Trial of Penenden Heath took place approximately ten years after 1066. It concerned a land dispute between Lanfranc, Archbishop of Canterbury, and Odo de Bayeux, the Conqueror's half-brother. The trial lasted three days and resulted in a partial recovery of properties for the church.
